View Technical ServicesA global customer had ongoing needs for server rack & stack in multiple sites around the world. In some of the sites, there wasn’t enough work to justify full-time hires, but the job still needed to get done from time to time.
Conexus hired technicians in Hong Kong, London, Boston, and New Jersey to provide weekly server rack & stack services. When business started to grow beyond the original scope and server rack & stack became a daily task at the different data centers, our customer hired our technical staff full-time and made them employees of their own.
With construction of a new headquarters facility on-going, Conexus was engaged to help move and migrate server racks and structured cabling for a test & qualification lab.
A global technology OEM was facing the challenge of needing to keep their testing & qualification lab running, while dismantling and moving it to a new location. Their team needed to focus on the tasks at the existing site and they were short-handed for running cabling and placing racks at the new site. Conexus provided contract technical staffing to help facilitate the move with limited supervision.
A global OEM has thousands of different inventory items to manage with millions of dollars in spend. If your annual spend on cabling and power cords is in the millions, then delaying ownership of those items until they are consumed can have huge implications.
It just isn’t practical or efficient to individually receive tens of thousands of cable and cord assemblies by scanning each item individually.
We individually barcode every item and every package for lot tracing and serialization. This is useful for identifying and limiting the impact of problems in the production process, for tracking the movement of goods and for documenting assets at the end-user level, but there just isn’t time for many OEMs to scan every item on inbound delivery.
Using 2D barcodes on outer cartons has given our customers the ability to download all of the barcodes contained in a box or carton with a single scan.
Coupled with our electronic pre-ship alerts, our customers know what is shipping, in which box before it ever arrives. Then once it does, a single scan can verify that everything has been received.
If cabling and power cords are not your niche, it is nearly impossible to maintain compliance with all of the international codes, standards and approvals.
In doing so, you may have inventory of the same part with five different approvals for North America, Europe, Asia, India and others.
